We are introducing Dynasty Gallery glass designs for this season. In-store sales have been very, very high this season, so you may want to call our offices to confirm availability before placing your orders.
Dynasty Gallery uses FUSION technique or "warm glass." There is a difference between traditional blown glass and fusion glass. Blow glass is where the glassmaker literally "blows" air into the molten glass to manipulate shapes. Temperatures of blow glass exceed 2000 degrees. Fusion glass or "warm glass" is a technique in which a glassmaker joins different colors of molten glass or various glass objects to create a solid unified piece of glass art. Temperatures range between 1100 and 1700 degrees, which is why it is considered "warm" when compared to glass temperatures.
The Gallery Series is a little more expensive than the traditional jellyfish paperweights. Each tentacle in the Gallery Series is individually pulled, the whole piece is refired. This process is repeated until all the tentacles have been pulled. Compare this to the regular jellyfish paperweight, where all the tentacles are pulled together.
The length and strength of the glow feature depends on how long the item has been exposed to light, and the intensity of the light.
